Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild
It is Official - Happy Fall to All!
So many consider autumn a favorite time of year and I agree. Crisp weather, the vibrant colors of the season, and shorter days seem to suggest we relax a little and relish the shortest season of the year. Wool just seems woolier and our gatherings a little more intimate. Let’s Celebrate Together!
Our Fall Hook In is fast approaching, Saturday, October 11th, and we have much to celebrate. If you have not yet registered, the last day to do so is Wednesday, October 1st and we hope to see you there. The BRHG is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and will be a feature of the event, it’s a big deal. We have a wonderful and talented teacher/member scheduled to provide an amazing wool felting pop up session for everyone.
Our business meeting segment is on the agenda as well. Must mix a little business with pleasure.
Students participating in the classes preceding the hook in with Pamelyn will have an opportunity to share their Vintage Season projects with everyone!
Dues renewal for next year, 2026 will be collected for those that wish to check that box of next years to-do list. As tradition dictates, Laura K. (Treasurer) will gladly collect your dues, $25.00 (cash or check) at the hook in for your convenience.
Our Guilds amazing exhibit at Sauder Village Rug Hooking Week this past August is the featured article in the most recent publication of Rug Hooking Magazine. Curated and written by Maddy Fraioli, “Let’s Play” Honoring a Sisterhood of Shared Creativity,” nineteen of our Guild members joined in in doing just that – sharing creativity and sisterhood! Excellent job Maddy, we look forward to learning what new adventure you have in store for us next year!
We are growing! I am happy to share that in addition to the new members we welcomed to our guild this past April, we continue to grow. Since that time, we have received four more NEW membership enrollees! This includes an employee of the Double Tree staff, we are pleased to report this trend continues.
Our outreach also includes efforts to help communities. Once again, this year we will be collecting food donations to assist the Woodlands Women Shelter. Your donations are always appreciated.
I find it hard to believe that we, your board, will soon be wrapping up the first half of this two-year term. I want to take a moment and thank Trish, Kaye, Sue, Kim, Laura, Ronda, Maddy, and all of you for making this celebratory 25th year of the BRHG possible. We are excited about what is up and coming next year, education/teacher offerings, Johnstown BRHG gatherings and of course our biannual events and all the magic of fellowship in sharing our craft.
See you soon!
